As far as ‘I Believe in my mess’ is concerned, Sly Stone is up there with the brightest stars of popular music. To find out that the man is living in a small RV being hopelessly addicted is not only sad, but mindboggling as well. Why wasn’t this breaking news? It’s like finding out that Paul McCartney is broke and has been surviving in the London subway.
All the more reason to write an ode to the man who made so many people happy. So, one more time: dance to the music.
